Robbie graduated from the University of Utah this month with a BA in geoscience. Basically his degree is the study of rocks, land & water. He is the guy that tells the guys where to dig for oil & so on. He loves his degree simply because it keeps him outdoors where he loves to be.
The Graduation ceremony was held just for this specific degree so it wasn't as large as the whole University graduation. The speakers were all very pleasant to listen to. HOWEVER who ever decided to use this building did not think this through from a scrapbookers point of view ( how dare they right!) the pictures are ALL horrible I'll post one of Robbie so you can see for yourself! I didn't get to sit through a lot of the ceremony, for some reason our two year old had a very stern mind of his own on what he wanted to do that day, so we spent a lot of time in the hall way. Robbie's sister was very kind to take over on "toddler duty" so I could go in & sit while Robbie actually walked. It was very nice of her & I have no real words to express my gratitude other than thank you very much Jonilin!
After the ceremony, Robbie, myself,Trenton, Rob's parents & sister met up outside. We talked for a few minutes about how proud we were of Robbie & then the conversation turned to all the things we needed to do that day for the next day ( commissioning ceremony ) So we literally forgot to take any pictures of our graduate. I got one good one or Robbie holding Trent. My heart is so sad that we let this moment pass us so quickly, for preparations for the weekend. Robbie & I have joked about putting his cap & gown back on & getting pictures of all of us just to "re-live" the moment. All in all I have many mental pictures & a very proud heart to remind me of his accomplishment, even without pictures!
After the ceremony the graduates & families were invited to go have a lunch at the new Sutton building where they studied most of the time. It was Beautiful! Robbie told me he would bring me back this summer so we can get pictures of it without our screaming toddler! The lunch was just the three of us (rob,me & T.C) & it was really very nice. I got to meet a few of his professors & friends who graduated with him that day.
